On this page we'll try to focus on local issues and politics that affect those of us in Hickman County, Tennessee. The Hickman Tea Party is not a registered corporation - nonprofit or otherwise - and is not affiliated with any of the several other "tea party" organizations vying for national control.
Think of us as more like an informal social club. We have no "Robert's Rules of Order" or a president or secretary or treasurer or "spin doctor." At our meetings, at 6:30 pm every third Monday at The Country Kitchen on Hwy. 46, Mark McFarlin may moderate, or it may be someone else. Please come join us
We're just a bunch of local folks who are concerned about the direction our own local county government is headed, and we want to do something about it. While we don''t try to ruin anyone's reputation, we DO want accountability in government, and an end to the cronyism, favoritism, nepotism, corruption, ignorance and incompetence in our county and city governments.
I thought I would be able to separate items and posts by local, state or national category, but this blogging program does not allow that - only static, unchanging pages, so I guess I'll have to see if I can change that.
